I searched far and wide for 1/4 inch bungee cord. I finally called a rigging store. They not only had it but they had it in Black. Perfect! 10 feet per seat back does the trick add on a couple of tie wraps. Voila! At .25 cents per foot and a couple of cent per tie wrap. Total: $6.00. The dealer wanted $20.00 per seat back. I saved $34.00. Yippee!

I did the same thing. I got my bunjee cord from REI for about .35c/foot, but it's really good stuff. Strapties, all set!
The coolest thing? The driver's-side seatback bunjee is the PERFECT size for any of the midline Camelback water carriers. I've got a Camelback Lobo and it slots right in there, leaving the drink-tube right by my shoulder. Great for keeping hydrated on long trips.

Great idea with the hydro system. I wonder if you can do the same with the output.

now just fill that camelbak with beer, and it's like having a tap in your car! your friends can get wasted at the Element Bar! When you get pulled over, offer the cop a nice draft beer!

Anyone know of a source for the 1/4" bungee cords in bulk online?

On the seatback bungee system, has anyone attempted to use elastic cargo netting, and lace it in using the the loops on the seatback?

On Ebay they have the 1/4 inch cord for about $25.00 for 100 feet. Try there...

I'm really liking the idea of netting rather than the larger cording. Any ideas about where to get this kind of stuff?

Go to any decent-size fabric store. My wife found elastic netting with really small holes at a local store and bought a bunch for me to use in making accessory pockets for my packs--great for holding wet stuff and allowing it to dry as you hike. I would make it a "patch" by adding shock cord all around the edge and then using spring clips--baby biners--to attach it to the seat.

I came across a whole variety of snazzy bungee cords tipped with the usual
metal hooks and 'baby' Cargo Net bungees for use on motos (motorcycles)
collected over several decades on everything from urban and flea market schlepping, canyon carving (not much apex strafing!) and light touring
UP ON TWO - which is to say, get over to your friendly nearby motorcycle shop(s) and check out their BUNGEE MADNESS SCENE. They might even
order for you from their counter accessory catalogues. I'll bet someone here comes up with some OTC Aftermarket off-brand moto mini-cargo net with the perfect existing spider-strand lengths and the right hook pattern to be a 'natural crook' (anybody here remember where that term comes from?...was it hat manufacturing or something like that?) to pop right onto
the EX-trim front and rear driver's side seatback BUNGEE LOOPS.
Most moto shops would have/could easily get those itsy-bitsy-cutesy bungees which should pop right on. I've got my peepers peeled for the natural instant classic setup for those seatbacks. Anyhoo, good luck...
