Sheniferous 05-11-2004, 11:48 AM .... meanwhile, here in Xiamen, China... it's 30 degrees celsius at night!
cotton 05-11-2004, 01:24 PM That is crazy boneheadz! The E looks beautiful in the white blanket of snow, but it must be freezing like hell.
Sheniferous, is it muggy in China where you are at? 30 degrees C is hot, but it would be more crappy if it was humid as well.
boneheadz 05-11-2004, 01:52 PM This might be the universe's responce to my new hawiian seat covers
bone
Rockies 05-11-2004, 03:19 PM I awoke to the exact same image. Same snow, same black E. (less trees in my neighbourhood though) And it is still snowing like crazy out there! Not that cold at least.
I place the blame firmly on your shoulders, bone.
rafale 05-11-2004, 03:20 PM damn, I've been running the air in my house for the past week -- afternoon temps in the high 80s.

Same here. Atlanta's been quite warm this past week. Using the AC in the house and while driving my E.
We only receive a little bit of snow about once a year (and then most of us don't know how to drive in it!).
Florida Roadie 05-11-2004, 05:42 PM Meanwhile back at the ranch in sunny Florida.....
Air temp. 87 F.
Gulf temp. 79 F.
6mph. E breeze.
Sunny ,think I'll go for a dip in the gulf :P Another excuse to run the E in the sand . :P

It's not quite Florida, but we're going down to Jekyl Island, GA the last week of May. We love the beach (especially my 14 year old son), and this will be our first road trip in our E. I think it's about 5 hours from Atlanta. Can't wait!

yes, and i have the lethal heat/humidity combination here... it's bad, but only 1 more month before I go home to the nice sunny weather in LA... and my E! ;)
Florida Roadie 05-12-2004, 09:33 AM Here in Florida humidity is not an issue ,at least not to us on the west coast. We always have an onshore breeze to cool things off. What is an issue is mosquitos.. During certain hours they can be a pain in the a$$ 8) Love bugs are present during May & September but thay just annoy ,not bite/sting. :x
BEATBOX 05-12-2004, 12:45 PM 8) Hmm, the perfect day in Seattle today! 62 F and partyly cloudy! 8)

Even when it's 80+ here tho we usually get a nice ocean breeze off the Sound. I lived in Colorado for a year, but couldn't do with out that salty air! Guess I was born in to it! :)
Florida Roadie 05-14-2004, 06:59 PM Nav-E-Gator ...75 ?? We turn the heat on at 75.. or ai least pull out the long sleeve stuff. No wonder all those windshields are cracking. Poor things are shivering apart.

So...is that the technical definition?? I thought I was the only grown adult who used words like that...or is that just what my family tells me to get me to stop?!?!
Anyway, had to chime in on the weather thing...just because we have legs so white they actually have been known to blind the unsuspecting tourist...and this nasty habit of wearing shorts with Gore-Tex and sandels...wait that's me again :?
Near 70 today  for me that's already to warm
jesse
BEATBOX 05-17-2004, 10:47 AM Near 70 today for me that's already to warm
Yes, but in true Seattle form, still overcast! 8)
Nav-E-Gator 05-17-2004, 12:11 PM ALSO in true "Seattle-form" we're all in short-sleeves! Over 65?! My, what a WARM month we're having :!: :!:
Have to admit I've never experienced the East Coast heat & humidity for myself. What's a good month to visit to avoid getting the worst of that (whenever we get around to taking that trip)?

Nav-E-Gator... Where in the East? I lived at Lake Tahoe CA. for 13 years & didn't see much difference between it & the mid-Atlantis states. Bur Florida is a whole other ball game. It's a lot like Ca. in the sense that there is a dramatic difference between extreme north & South. They are both very long states with different climate zones. After living at needle peak in Tahoe & then coming to Fl. I felt like I fell into a fire . We are here 20 years now & need arm warmers to ride our bikes in less than 60 degrees. I'm in southwest FL. on the coast & it's great weather between Oct. & June. Tends to get hot the other 3 months. But we that are year round residents find it very comfortable all year. Your E will love it here .
Nav-E-Gator 05-17-2004, 05:45 PM Well, the whole East holds a certain fascination of one sort or another - from New England all the way down. Many many years from now my hubby I hope to motorhome our way around to most every state in the continental U.S. - hey, maybe we'll tow the E! (or what's left of it by then!) ;)
Have you seen anyone post about a nice long road-trip in their E yet? (Like 3-4 states or so?) With gas prices the way they are it's probably cheaper to fly some places than to drive tho!

wmas1960 05-18-2004, 02:27 AM Really nice photos. One thing that strikes me so far, and I may still have a couple pages to browse through is your Laptop Table. That is really cool. Get that somewhere or, I assume you made it yourself?
WmAS1960 (Bill)
OH, when in doubt, read. I have been catching up here by just breezing through. Didn't notice you had a write up about the desk. Really Cool. As a Photographer and Videographer that could be real handy.

GYPSYTDA 05-18-2004, 11:09 AM beatbox: hi thank you.. well went off to colorado, found our new home.. (land anyhow, the home will be started soon, and we should be in it by the end of the year, or beginning of next year.. we will move by the end of the summer, and rent whileour home is being built!)
Glowing legs.. ah yes, i actually can signal planes.. now in DE there is a tanning salon every other street.. DE is like a relocated London, we rarely see sunlight, mainly raining overcase.. PLUS hot & humid! I could not tan if i lived on the sun.. some reason i never have been the tanning type.
East Coast, well the wild thing is North Carolina & Georgia are cooler then DE, and often so is Florida.. DE is an extremely hot & humid state... just yucky.. and there is nothing to come here for, it is boring too.. really nothing redeemable about DE.. i mean it, bring a book or something if you visit for some freak reason..
Ahh and my technical terms, yucky yes, absolutely that pretty much covers DE climate, on a good day.. and we hardly get winter, it gets into the 70s in freakin' February.. we might see some snow (if you pay close attention since it melts as it meets the ground, or sooner). .. oh can you guess i hate DE>??

Gypsy - so mental note then, do not move to Deleware, right?! Although I have to say that when I did a year (time served) in Colorado I was less than impressed. Pretty state, but couldn't get used to no ocean air. And prepare for the wind in the Springs!
I Love Seattle and don't plan to move away - however, I do hope my future travels take me as far as Bald Eagle has gone! Amazing! :D

I personally do love rain, and i have to laugh when i look at the weather report.. what i hate is the high humidity that teams up with the rain afterwards, and feels like a huge sauna that you can not escape.. you can feel it even when you go indoor into the a/c...
aside from the weather, i love soo much about colorado.. speaking of that,i have to pry myself away from this keyboard and get some stuff done.. maybe another minute or two (funny how those minutes bleed into hours huh?)
Florida Roadie 05-19-2004, 12:06 PM Now & through the remainder of the week....Southwest Coast of FL.
High 89..
Low 68.. Clear, breezy & no rain in sight.

Try to drive through DE & PA well before 6am.. or after 10am if it is a weekday.. anytime between 6am and 10am can be ugly.. ditto for any time between noon and 8pm..
good luck have a safe trip! Feel free to take any rain you find, home with you!

GYPSYTDA.. Thanks for the heads up in regard to travel in DE.& PA. But after Richmond & D.C. ,your area will be like a country drive. I know your area well .being born in the Phila. area. We have 4 sons living in Pa. & we want to incorporate a visit with them ,putting together our 52nd. class reunion & races in OH. & PA. ..
You are absolutly correct about the traffic in your area. After a few weeks of driving up north we return & think,"What the hell were we bitching about here"

Hee.. Florida you are a Classic.. thank you, great laugh there..
Not sure how long it has been since you have traveled up here, but in the 15 years I have been in DE.. this area has gotten MUCH worse.. per the year.. insane..
though if you really want to experience BAD traffic just travel on 896 southbound to the beach.. That gets really silly!
Enjoy your trip and your visit with your kids!

oooh yikes.. and humm snow bird.. is that when you get that might be a flurry from the sky?? grin!
well humm DE, well we have hot, hotter, and hottest..
(each with rain, rain, and some more rain.. today we have this wierd weather.. the sky is this never seen before, light blue and the fluffy things are white not grey... hum,.. and no water coming from them.. how odd.. and the temperature is strangly pleasant ok this CAN NOT last!)
with an occassional freak moment of semi cold with potential melts as it hits the ground snow.. ok sometimes it sticks, sorta.. but melts soooo quick.. yet for some reason people still feel compelled to stock up on milk and bread for that horrible snow "storm" of 1 inch.. nooo, egad it is a blizzard.. :D yeah they be freaks here i do think..
of course their driving only mirrors that.. "the sky is falling" syndrom hits when it is rain, snow or hey sun too..

calvin13 06-01-2004, 05:24 PM you mean where it is cold. you a 10 degrees colder. that is like an artic wind. i like the heat. that is why i live in south florida. how places can you go for a 30 mile ride at 1730 and it still be in the 90's. with this kind of heat maybe some of the fulltime residents will leave. i can only dream.
Florida Roadie 06-02-2004, 07:07 AM What's it like in my home town.. Well today will be like yesterday. Very clear & very hot, skin damaged with more than 15 min. exposure to the sun. Around 95 with a breeze of 10-15mph. Most of the surrounding areas have uncotrolled wild fires due to hot ,dry conditions. But I am not the least concerned.I am turning off the airconditioning & will ask calvin13 for some of whatever it is that he is taking. :P If this makes no sense then read the preceeding post.

After 13 years in the Sierras ,I'll take the warm weather.
Things I nolonger say.
I wonder if the pass is open yet?
Do we need chains to get up the access road ?
Who in the hell left the beer in the car overnight,it's a goner.
Honey where did you park the car last night? we got dumped on & I can't find it.
Honey ,call road service the battery is dead again.
Or my favorite, Hell no I'm not digging the car out. It's your turn ,I did it yesterday.

you are a hoot.. and oh gosh do i remember as a child the number of times sodas exploded in the car.. from the cold.. and watermelons from the heat..
enjoy your heat florida.. i will take the snow, cold, and digging my vehicle any day..
I used to rent the basement from a family that did snow plowing, i had a prelude.. they thought i was insane... as i would hop through the snow to feel the lumps to find where my car was, and dig it out.. then go off just driving for fun.. love the snow.. just the freak i am.. smiles! :D
Florida Roadie 06-24-2004, 10:00 AM GYPSY ..Everything in moderation. (even moderation)
I was a snow /ski freak from 1954 ( before Head introduced the metal ski to the USA ),until 1985 when my wife shattered her leg in 17 places. We lived in Vail for a year (72) . I guess we just ate enough snow for one life time.
Colorado is a wonderful place to live and I sincerely wish you and your hubby all the best that life has to offer .
