: A Few Hitch Questions

I want to get a hitch put on my Element. I'll only be using it for occassional towing and will likely never read the maximum tow capacity.

But, I have a lot of questions.

First, what are the advantages of the regular hitch vs. the hidden hitch?

Second, should I have it done at U-Haul or at the dealership. Doing it myself is not an option.

And third, what can I expect to pay, reasonably, for this?

Thanks sooo much!

expect to pay ~$150 installed at U-Haul for Class II 2" receiver.
That's about $110 for hitch and $20-$40 for install.
Then there's wiring kit if you plan on towing trailer.
Don't forget chrome propeller receiver cover, 16.95 at W-Mart.

Hidden Hitch is a brand name. I have one on my Chevy. They make hitches that are hidden behind a Flip-up licence plate for trucks, but the hitch they make for the element is just a standard hitch. I bought the U-Haul 2" hitch and installed it myself. They charged me $112 for the hitch and wanted $15 to install it. It was way more than $15 worth of time and trouble to install it myself. I'm completely satisfied with the hitch.

Hope this helps!

Uhaul and Valley are the same hitch. Very nice tube steel with 2" receiver. They tuck up tight under the bumper. $111 at Uhaul.
