she's the most natural and talented singer that show has ever produced -- more soul in her pinky than in the entirety of the competition!

she is definetly talented but,,,,,,,
can you imagine listening to a whole cd of her singing, I can't, her voice has no versitility. But for singles she's good and has good stage presence

i watched the first round of Am Idol a year or so ago.. and i did watch it to the end.. i was terribly disappointed at the outcome (Kelly Clarkson) there were several others who were far better then her.. so i had no desire to watch that again..

Not to mention the whining between the judges was just terribly annoying!
But eh more power to those who enjoy that show..

I think she would be a great blues singer. At 19 she is already in great control and has a ton of variety. She's the only one to come out of those shows who I would buy a CD.

i agree - she's the only one who didn't sound like she was screaming when she SANG - with the most individual style of any American Idol contestant they have ever had in all 3 seasons -- reminds me of the blues singer, Minnie Ripperton--

I agree Beatbox. I'd add that Latoya London was the best singer by far but too sophisticated for this show. Fantasia was the best entertainer and she'll only get better. For my nickel she could be the next Tina Turner.

Tina Turner + Macy Gray + Aretha Franklin = Fantasia Borrino!

Tina Turner I love, Macy Gray grates my nerves.. and Aretha well eh, i can take he or leave her.. but only once in a blue moon really..

Did not hear or see this AM Idol so i don't know what this gal is like.. i am sure she will be all over the radio like they did with kelly clarkson (which just made me want to run straight into a wal.. ahhhh)

Well, try not to run in to any walls, Gypsy! I really like her too, and agree that she was a true winner! My hope is that "they" don't try to "pop" her out too much - she really should sing the more electric-jazzy stuff like Aretha and such. I look forward to hearing more from Diana in a couple years when she has even more control on her voice and is able to "let go" because of it! I like her too! :)

good grief...fantasia sang as though she had sucked in helium before each competition. she probably tuned her voice to the sound of fingernails scratching a chalkboard. if i didn't know any better, she probably intentionally stuck a stick up her @$$ to get that high shrill. and has anybody noticed that she can't dance!? she dances like she's a hunchback!

yes, if you haven't noticed, I did not like Fantasia and do not understand how the majority of the AI viewers thought she was the best singer.

Diana, by far, had more vocal talent and range. And her voice is so much more tolerable than Fantasia. And, omg, she just looks better!!!! Put a picture of Fantasia on any CD cover and you can kiss sales goodbye! And seriously, does anyone think they could listen to an entire CD of Fantasia singing at the exact same pitch and shrill for eveyr song?

And it's just too bad LaToya got screwed. She was the best fo' sure!
