I've seen press pictures deplaying some sort of flip up navigation unit !!!!

The nav unit shown is most likely an Alpine CVA1003 radio with pop-out display, being backfed by an NVA-series (either the CD or DVD one) navigator. As long as you have a "D"-sized slot available you can put this in any car. I had the older CVA-1000 series in my van prior to having the Element. You can get these at any decent Alpine dealier.

I would have installed one of these in the E if I didn't already have the Streetpilot III.

The blue-panel element was just a prototype... which is a shame! I thought those looked great!

That is a shame because those blue panels would make me buy the satin silver model instead of the SOP that I want.

And as for that NAV unit, I'll have to look into one of those Alpine ones because the pic make that look almost like a factory job.

I liked the blue panels too. I think they should offer different color panels in the next batch they make!
