Have any of you used a cargo roof box on your Element yet?
I have a THULE roofbox from my previous SUV. I am planning to stuff it with pillows, a comforter, some clothes, sheets, toiletries and dog supplies. I am not sure how much weight I will be putting in it but am planing not to overload with heavy items. I will be taking a trip soon and hope the Element I ordered will be here in time ( if not, then I plan to rent a minivan)
I wanted to free up the back so my 3 dogs have plenty of space on the trip. Wanted to hear if any of you have already had a simlar scenario and how did it go? The box on top is very important and feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to but a very nice car-top carrier last week at a garage sale; it was brand new. Then I remembered that when I was waxing the roof of the car I was able to depress the roof area pretty easily. So, if you plan to use a roof-top carrier, I would suggest not putting much weight in it!

gotta use the cross bars with a box then there is no weight on the roof
