Finally! Here are my pictures of CoCo. Sorry if some are a little fuzzy, he is impossible to take pictures of. Plus, some of the pictures are of him "sitting pretty" as my fiancee calls it so he was dancing around on his back legs. ENJOY!

A car riding bunny! Cool. Does he like riding in the car Trevor?

Sometimes, shes getting old enough now that it is a bit of a stress on her to ride for long but she does like to get up and look out the window. When we first start out she wants to climb all over the car and check everything out. By the end of the trip she's happy to be on ground that isn't moving anymore. She's real good though, she'll climb back into her cage to use the litterbox even in the car.

I took my Lutino Peachfaced lovebird to the Joshua tree car camping meet over the weekend. And get this, I met another lovebird owner, Nancy, at that EOC meet.
I enjoyed Bob's company when caught in LA traffic getting there and back. He chirped to BB king at one point. I don't have a very good pix of him in the car. I noticed someone had an avatar with a bird on the steering wheel. Anyone else has E riding birds?

According to Guinness (http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=58459), the oldest living rabbit was born in February 1991. Maggie is less than 2 years behind (born 12/93)!

I believe that the pet store industry is what leads to the premature death of many small mammals. I've always fed Maggie basic, nutritious food that is free of high-cholesterol additions (nuts, seeds, dried fruit, etc.), and she has always lived indoors. She's litter box trained and never used pine shavings (the phenols are very irritating to respiratory tracts). She was spayed as a bunny because female rabbits often die of uterine cancer. Her biggest health concern has to do with her kidneys.

All of my information came from The House Rabbit Society (http://www.rabbit.org/) and so far, their advice has worked very well! If you have a small mammal, please keep in mind that the "gourmet treats" (seed and nut sticks, yogurt drops, etc.) sold to pet owners can be detrimental (http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/diet.html) to your pet's health. Their only purpose is to get your money.

Nice picture MsMarvel. The bunny is older than the kiddies! I had a friend who potty trained her pet rabbits so that they can be loose in the house. It's a little more difficult to do than with larger mammals but since they are pretty long lived, you would think they would eventually retain the training.

I've found that rabbits tend to housebreak themselves. All it took with Spot was putting a litter box in the corner of her cage and she just started using it. She'll run from the far end of the house to get back there to go. She runs free around the living room when we are there and can pay attention to her. Without continual attention and play rabbits get bored and get into things they shouldn't (she has a pile of toys). That mischief makes them fun to play with though. She continually tries to sneak down the hallway and get under the beds. She doesn't stay under the bed, just waits till we come looking for her and out she goes with her tail a wiggling back up the hallway.

very good points, MsMarvel, on the feeding and treats. It used to be more difficult to find vets that had any idea about rabbits. I've had some say "Most people consider rabbits to be disposable". It is nice that now a few more seem to be familiar with them.

its funny the most common question that people ask is "Why a rabbit?"

I'm new here and just picked up my E yesterday. I've looked through the forum and didn't see this topic discussed as of yet so I figured I'd start it. What kind of pets do you have? My wife and I have two Boston Terriers, a Shar-Pei, and two cats. The Bostons love to go for rides but the Shar-Pei gets car sick but he'll go if he knows he's going someplace cool.

I have two Chi girls, who ride in my "E" whenever we go to grandma house. I will have to post pics, they go in there bags, one the arm straps I wrap on the headrest the other bag on the seat. I love all the room the "E" has, I can't see myself without her!:-)

We got Ziko from a breeder, but we recently added young Kazi to our family from a Ridgeback Rescue group... From day one they have been best buddies.

LOL, Ann! :D

Nah, Gidget's not running for office, it would ruin her therapy dog career!

If she filed for office, she'd immediately alienate one-third of the electorate who -- depending on her affiliation and theirs -- would assume she's either evil, or a flaky liberal.

And 90% would assume she's corrupt.

Presently, nearly 100% -- across the political spectrum -- enjoy petting her so she'll remain firmly in the nonpartisan pup camp.

She'll leave politics to her mama. And continue to provide me therapy to cope with that...

;-)

She does photograph well. A president with sagging pol numbers would be wise to get a Samoyed.

The Cat Lobby is opposed on general principle.

The International Brotherhood of Big Fat Squirrels registered violent opposition to the nomination and then ran for the nearest tree.

The International Consortium of 3 Yr. Old Boys with Ice Cream Cones is still leery based on that previous incident in the park with a dog who may or may not even have been Gidget.

Antarctica Polar Bears Local 919 feels that Gidget has been far too soft on issues of penguin amnesty, and they don't feel that the general tendency to vote "fluffy and cuddly" sends the right message to the nation at this time.

... and of course, Rush Limbaugh will speak out against anyone cuddlier and fluffier than he is.

hmmm, some stiff opposition there. the cat lobby is very powerful and i hear the squirrels have a lot of nuts saved to buy a candidate. gidget may have to unite the polar bears and little children by letting the former eat the latter. rush, of course, can be bought off with under the counter viagra contributions.:)

I have a Rottie (Onyx) that couldn't live with me because of my apartment complex, so I placed him in the care of my parents. I figured that they could use a guard dog. He was at that time 105 lbs. My mom feed him better than my father. Luxury item- Premium black forest ham, steak, chicken, my father's leftovers, and even P&J sandwiches. Six months ago, he was 160#. The poor guys was breathing heaving sitting still. Though diet and exercise (and more frequent visits) he lost 20 or so pounds. I'll post a pic of my little tubbie when I take one on my next visit to my folks.

 I find myself not reading back far enough sometimes too.

As far as the stuffed toys go, Moose won't touch the ones in the car but if they are out on the lawn or in the house they are fair game (see below) and usually last about two minutes. He goes straight for the tag on the toy first. Then he finds the sqeaker with his feet or his big pink nose and using his teeth like he's eating a corn on the cob.. rips the skin of the toy open pulling out any stuffing that gets in his way. He's a big goofball...lol

Ann was talking about the stuffed hedgehogs in Moose's picture (in Mr. Breeze's post).

One of my dogs went through five or six of those things. They were his absolute favorite stuffed toy. Because of the noise they made, they were named "Farty the Hedgehog."

i went back and read my post. lol. i just wanted to let
you know that the gorilla and the frog are stuffed dog toys also.:)

It's just dawned on me, I haven't introduced "The Boys" to everyone! I'm sorry, I thought I had. They are the main reason we bought the E to begin with!

Here's my boys (oldest to youngest)

What a beautiful bunch of boys you have there...great pics !!
Do they all fit comfortably in the E?
That's one of the main reasons for getting our E too. Plenty of room for Moose.

Sorry for the long delay in responding! Some how I missed your question. Anyway, I have not tried to get all of them in the E at one time; however, I'm certain if I raise the seats they will all fit in there. Right now I just put them in there three at a time, two in the rear seats and one in the cargo area.

We just moved (with our two dogs) to a new house, where the previous owners dog "conveyed" with the sale (at least temporarily). I had my hands full with two dogs -- three feels crazy. My hats off to you and your six!!!!
