Does anybody know of any companies that make a lowering spring for the Element. I'd like to buy one but won't if I can't get springs.

Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for some lowering springs also. I think a 2 inch drop would do wonders for the handling.

I found some on NOPI's website...nopi.com...its a two inch drop, priced at 228. If anyone finds any better deals let me know...I also heard that you could use stock civic springs, but I havent found out what year civic yet...I will let you know when I find out more details about that.

Whew - Before using civic springs, I would check very deeply into that. The springs are what supports the entire weight of the car. My E weighs about 1000 lbs more than my 97 civic. The springs on the civic are no where near the size on my E.

very good point. there was a guy on one of the boards i think this one that used civic springs off his fiances car maybe he will chime in on this one. but you make good point on weight i think i will wait for drop springs for the E

I've been looking up on different springs to use to lower my E. I like the ei bach pro kit with the 1.7 drop. Any suggestions on other springs? With that lowering height do you think i would have to angle my car over speed bumps and driveways? I want the clean lower look without the hassle

I just intalled the pro-kit on my E and it seems to ride just fine. Its cuts the wheel gap in half but I have yet to drag on speed bumps or driveways. I think that with the lower center of gravity, the E handles a little bit better too. You might want to purchase a camber kit for the rear because you'll have some serious negative camber when your done. I've also heard the H&R springs ride nice but the Sprint springs are a bit harsh.

I dont speak from experience with lowering an E, but I have lowered a Civic, an Integra, and a Jetta... (each being my own personal cars, not done for someone else) I used H&R on the Jetta: No complaints. I used Eibach on the Integ: No complaints (best of the three) and I used Sprint on the Civic: Rode too rough... felt like cut springs, not replaced ones...

any good lowering springs out there any of you would recommend? i know they all have bumpy rides, just looking for the LEAST bumpy ride.

i know TEIN Basic Dampers are the best way to go, but i'm on a tight budget for the meantime and would rather get the coils later when i'm ready.

I've read owners here have H&Rs, Eibach and, Tein S (and some others i can't remember) but never really found a comparison with all the lowering springs out there for the E.

Thanks in advance

Ground Control makes coil-overs there not as nice as the tiens but u can slam the E . i just had them installed on mine , rides as good as the eibachs but about an inch lower. i'm running 19's with 245/40/19 tires and i have NO wheel gap . JUST WATCH OUT FOR POT HOLES! lol

I run the Tein Basic Coil Overs, but before that I ran the Eibachs for quite a while. What you need is an Alignment Kit (rear camber kit) and two camber bolts for the front. I have the Eibach Alignment Kit (about $150) for the rear, and the front bolts are only about $10 a piece. So that once your rig is lowered you can get a 'TRUE' alignment, and your back wheels won't camber out. You have to do this no matter who's equipment you buy, to get lowered.

Very sweet!!! That's a beautiful rig, and you made an excellent choice to go with the Tein Basic Coil Overs. Be sure to share more of those pics with us!

The Teins are MANUALLY adjustable, and once you have them adjusted to where you want, you need to get an alignment done.

Yes you can, but you still need to get an alignment, everytime you change the height level.

You are most welcome! If your friends father is in the automotive business, then maybe he could get them for you wholesale?

If not, then keep an eye on eBay.

In addition to the Tein Basic Coil Overs, I'm also installing the Suspension Techniques Sway Bars, they make cornering feel like you're riding on rails. Just an additional thought for your future...future plans! ;-)

They will have to be the ground controls which alter your stock height from 0 to 2.5". The Teins are a permanent drop FYI. Adjustable range is 2.4-3.4F and 2.2 -3.4R.

Are you using the OEM shocks with the Tein S-tech springs? I would like to go with just putting the springs on....and eventually get the tein basic dampers (shocks)...when the funds are available.

You are a 'very smart' young man, I ran my Eibach Pro Kit for quite a while until I could go with the Tein Basic Coil Overs. The ride was a little stiffer, which was waaaay better than STOCK, and 'the LOOK factor' was "KILLER!!!"

Looking at possibly lowering the box. Notice a lot of people running Tein Basic coilovers but I'm looking at something a little cheaper as I probably won't need the adjustment. Anyone have any input on this?

h&r's are good with moderate drop of 1.75front and 1.5 rear. i think it was more like 2 front 1.75 rear but never fully measured. just know my basics are set alittle lower. still have the h&r's if interested.

fill out your info so we know what element you have.

recently, i met PHIL, e-tronika, who has an ex on sprint springs. the drop is even and low all around. which makes me think that if it were an lx it would be even also. BUT, if it was an sc it would not be even.

eibachs are uneven for the lx and the ex models. the rear is noticeably higher. if you have an sc, the drop is even. you can check out MARK's, vfxraven19, ride.

i have not seenan element on tein s-techs, skunk2s, megan racing, or h&rs yet in person.

if you have an lx or ex, i would say, get some sprints. if you have an sc, get some eibachs.

That Drop is too big for the 4wd E. You may have purchased the springs for the 2wd drive. You should double check! I don't believe more than 2-2.25" is recommended for the rear. -J

Eibach's are uneven ONLY for 2003-2006 (1.7in drop for BOTH front and back). 2007 and up, they fixed the "uneven" issue. One has to check the specs of the springs to make sure the drop will be even, especially if the specs say 1.7in for both front and rear - that's a red flag for a noticeable slant.

fill out your info so we know what element you have.

id be the one with the stechs...and yes it does sit uneven. tho unnoticeable while you are in the car..looking from a distance you can tell the drop is uneven.

A question for the pros:

since my rear is sitting higher? could an option be to cut the springs enuff to make it look more even?

I would recommend H&R Sport springs. And, you should install rear camber kit and do an alignment after installing them, otherwise, your tires will wear out faster and unevenly.

The ground controls you talk about are they springs or those cheap as sleeved coilovers?

boxedup1

there sleeved type but use eibach ers springs. you could get differnt spec springs if you want it as comfy as lowering springs by them selves. ground control is one sleeved coilover i would have no problem using.just check some auto-x forums and youll see that ground controls with koni yellow are used many times in there set ups.i also have H&r springs in my basement. they wer the first springs i had on the e until i got the tein basics. they rode pretty good but they are not a slammed spring

Do not cut it... you will bounce for sure!

You should be glad that your rear is a little higher than the front, that way your rear won't bounce as much. The E is notorious for it's rear bounce, bottomout, trust me I know from experience.

I have the blue lowered springs (which is Sprint or H&R) with Monroes, the stock shocks in the front were destroyed from bottoming out.
The rear sits slightly lower than the front, which causes the rear to bounce more than usual. I've put on the Skunk2 Lower control arm and it helps a little, but not as stiff as I'd like it.

This will be the Best Suspension Setup, Ksport adjustable shocks & coilover combo if we are able to get a group buy!!!
(Yes, Most likely even better than the Tein Basic Coilovers. Teins are one of the top on the market, but if you've ever had adjustable shocks before, you'll never go back to regular shocks again, it's night and day performance.)

http://www.elementownersclub.com/for...534#post736534

Let's make this happen NismoGriff has put a lot of research into this and I know these will be great because I currently have them (D2 adjustable shocks & coilover combo) on my Civic hatch for over 3 years now and they are excellent!

ive heard that you need to buy "smart arm control arms" for the rear because it will throw the camber off a few degrees. is that true?

boxedup1
03-30-2009, 07:26 AM
true. when you drop the rear the camber becomes negative
