: '04 as a Race Hauler
ArturoC 06-15-2004, 11:39 PM Hi. I've only had my element for 7 days now, but I already put it to good use this past weekend as a race hauler. It worked perfectly! One seat folded up, the other folded flat. The blue box contains my gear (helment, leathers, boots etc) The built-in tie-down thingies were great. I actually did not realize the element had those until I loaded up the bike.
I love my E!

RIXELLIE 06-16-2004, 08:18 AM When I first got my Element, one of the things that I was hoping I would be able to do with it was fit my race bike into it. As it turned out, the bike was just a little too big for that. :( I was very interested in your pictures and was suprised at how easily your bike fit into the Element with room to spare and then I realized that your bike is an NSR50 and that explained it all. That's probably about the only size bike that can easily fit into an element without removing windshields, lowering handlebars, etc. (not to mention weight limitations). I know that there is another thread about fitting motorcycles into the Element. Anyway, that bike must be pretty fun to race, I imagine that it handles like a bicycle only with a lot more speed! We seem to have a lot in common besides just the Element....I have a Yamaha FZR400 racebike (which is for sale by the way), which is a larger version of your bike and I have a Greyhound, which is a larger version of your dog! Have fun with your Element. I have had mine for over a year and 20,000 miles and it is, without a doubt, the most fun and practical vehicle that I have ever owned! :D

I can see them, is it you?

ArturoC 06-17-2004, 09:29 AM Yeah, the bike is about an inch or so shorter than my mountain bike. Perfect size and only weighs about 160 lbs. :)
The bike is just a blast to race! I have a couple of 'big bike' riders on my endurance team and they seem ready to give up the big bikes after racing on my NSR.
Heh. you are about as close to my parrallel twin as they come. Cool dog!
RIXELLIE 06-17-2004, 01:02 PM There's one more thing in common. I also have a mountain bike and it fits great in the Element! I love when all the people that I ride with are busy pulling their bikes out of their trunks or off of their roof racks and then struggling to put on the front tire and reversing the process at the end of the ride and all I have to do is open up that clamshell tailgate, unhook the tie downs and pull the bike out and I'm ready to roll! I'm always the first one to get to the restaurant/bar after our rides!
ArturoC 07-06-2004, 12:35 AM I've yet to load my mountain bike up in the E. We have been having some really strange weather here. It rained everyday in the month of June. I've had my E for a month now and have yet to wash it once :( Rain rain rain. Finally this weekend was nice, I didn't wash it still, and guess what. Today ...it rained AGAIN! UGH! Hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks I will get a chance to load up the Mtn bike and hit the trails. (oh, added a track me of me on the NSR up above :D )
take care!
djTA630 07-06-2004, 03:34 PM Hey all -
First post, here (I think) - I just wanted to share this with you since I saw that NSR50 fit in the back of Arturo's -E- (Cool pix, btw!).
I haven't seen this around the board - so I thought this would be the most fittingist (is that a word?) place to put this pic. I was at the San Diego Supercross on January 24, 2004 and saw this out in the pits:

This was about a month after I got my -E-.
Ah well - I just thought I'd share!
ArturoC 07-09-2004, 09:34 PM Niiice... The E has to be the ultimate mini-bike hauler :)

I was wondering, could you fit 2 NSRs if needed? I race/ride YSRs and have been looking at the Element for the same reason.
scottycoyote 07-15-2004, 06:11 PM yep i bought the e thinking what a great trackday vehicle it would be. Get one of those small 1 or 2 bike trailers and youre well under the 1500 limit. Saw a hitch on ebay the other night for 100 bucks, said it attaches without anydrilling.......that may be me

I haven't tried it, but I would think it could easily fit two NSRs/YRSs in there. If you look at the pics, I have my big ol gear box in there which is a lot wider than the NSR. Also note that the right-rear seat is folded up and the left-rear seat is just folded flat with the gear box sitting on top of that. If I folded both seats up, or heck just pulled them out all together then it would easily fit two (x)SRs.
Where do yo race?

Yeah, that's what I noticed. I saw some images that you posted to one of the YSR mailing lists and meant to ask then. I didn't think there would be a problem. I race/raced in Iowa and am the webmaster for some of the sites (ciaysr.com - ticeman.com) I haven't been out racing in a couple of years, since my daughter was born, but hope to get back out there. We still take the YSR out and around, like to Road America so it would be nice not to have to pull a trailer.
