: 'E' Hybrid

I am constantly asked if my 'E' is a hybrid vehicle. I look at them and calmly state...'I wish'. With the way the market is going now, and with the fact that Honda already produces a Hybrid engine (optional on some civics), why can we not have at least the option for one on the 'E'? If I had the money to do it, I would swap out my engine for one. The 'E' already leads in innovation for all types of things, why not jump into the hybrid arena.
This is just my opinion, but I would like to hear what other 'E' owners think.

Its not just the engine, but the battery pack (and the charger that recovers energy from braking). Swapping something out would be impractical. I almost went the hybrid route this time, but a Civic or Prius simply wouldn't meet my needs. I would love to keep my E for a decade or more, but have the feeling a hybrid version will be available in a few years. Given the E's cavernous and wide-open interior, I would imagine finding someplace to stash the batteries would be the biggest challenge, so I would think it would appear as part of one of the typical Honda 4-5 year redesigns. Will it be the next redesign? Who knows.
