I was talking to my brother in law about how I wanted an Element and he said that they were expensive to fix. I was wondering if this was true.

I guess first they would have to break. I paid $167 for my 20,000 mile service, because I'm at the point in my life where that's worth the hassle of getting my lazy ass out in the garage and doing it myself for 1/4 that price. That and 4 new tires for $285 is not expensive to me, but then again, what do you call expensive?

No more expensive than any other new car. I forked over $1000+ a couple of years ago for a fuel pump for my Sunfire. That car was a money pit, and the reason I decided I was never touching a 'Big 3' again.
With a 5 yr, 100 k warranty, you only have basic maintenance to pay for anyway....
Besides, it's a Honda, it has a proven track record for reliability....
Which of the 'domestic' car companies can say that???
