: 5 speed EX AWD is worth the wait

Trust me, it's truly is worth the wait I think. I test drove the automatic THREE TIMES after test driving the 2WD EX 5 speed. I tried to convince myself I had to have it NOW and I could live with the automatic. Well from someone who truly loves to shift any vehcle particularly a HONDA I owed it to myself to wait. GOSH, it's almost May now ! I would kick myself I know if I bought an automatic ( and there certainly is nothing wrong with the automatics at all mind you ) it is simply my preference and I would hate to make payments on something that didn't satisfy me 100%. I just imagined myself getting the automatic and before I knew it the 5 speed would make it's debut then it would be too late. Honda doesn't give refunds. My order has been put in since early March and long as I keep busy and try not to think about it my dealer will be calling before I know it telling me that my Orange EX AWD 5 speed has arrived. :D

I have not driven the 5 speed yet and my wife would like the auto. Is the 5 speed nice to drive? I had a civic with a 5 speed and I miss it. (I have a accord with auto now)

I test drove the automatic and the 5-speed. After trying the 5-speed, I had to get an Element with it! The automatic is fine and I really have no complaints but having control of that nice shifter on the dash, the short and tight throws, and feeling the RPMs as they go up as you prepare the next shift, man! 8)

Thanks for the info DXboy. I will go test drive a 5 speed soon.

The five speed rocks. The position of the stick and the throws are second nature. Coupled with the i-vtec, it's just really sweet to drive. My only problem is that I sometimes look for sixth gear, which I had on the RSX-S.

Thanks for the offer but I live just up the hill from Bellevue honda and they owe me a great deal on a new element (Long story). I live in Bellevue just south of I90.

You know, I was kind of miffed that there was no stick EX available yet for me 'cause I always get stick, but when I test drove and felt where the shifter would be, I decided that I could live with auto this time around. Just seemed too far away for my taste. Plus I can't wait that long :)

Drew,

A stick EX is available, just not a 4WD stick (those should be out in June). I drove a 2WD EX stick last Friday and am waiting for the colors I like to come in.
