Went out and bushhogged the fields today with the tractor. I wanted to see
how the E would do on very steep hills. Have been a little sceptical of this
4WD system & how it will perform under real world conditions. I was able
to make it up the steepest hills--maybe 30+% grade on cut crass (slippery).
I even stopped on the steepest part of the hill to try making it from a standstill. The front tires immediatly let go and spun for about 1/4 second
and then off we went. The front let go a couple of times again for about
1/8 second and the rear kicked in well before we lost our momentum. I was
impressed with how the system performed and think winter, even in this
hilly area, will be no problem with the proper snow tires. Where the front
tires broke loose on the hill, there weren't even tire tracks dug in the dirt
that were visible, the system transferred power to the rear so fast.
