Reluctantly selling my brand new 2004 Element. The lack of fifth seat isn't cutting it for my family. This vehicle has been garaged from day one and doesn't have a scratch on it.
History:
Purchased May 2004
Mileage = 2250
Color = Sandstone
Options:
Fully equipped with side airbags, 5spd, sunroof, AWD
Also has the following genuine Honda accessories:
Honda side-steps
Honda rear cargo cover
Honda All Season Floor Mats
Honda Air Hood Deflector
Location is Dallas/Ft.Worth TX. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Paid in excess of $21,000 for all. Selling price = $19,500. Save a couple thousand bucks over what you will pay at the dealer.

your post seemed straight forward enough until the last line - "save a couple thousand over what you will pay at the dealer" ... sorry ron but i hear the buzzer sounding on that one. regular visitors and posters here know that people are buying brand new ones for considerably less than what you are asking for your used one. it is still true however that there are people paying more (too much) too. so, you might get lucky!

Thanks for the post but I'm not sure what you are getting at. My post is straightforward. Take the average price folks are paying for EX Elements (my situation), add the genuine accessories and it is pretty easy to see that the price will be in the range described. I'll take offers within reason.
Reason for sale is straightforward as well. Seating for four is turning into an issue for my wife. The Element is great, but I've decided to go ahead a find another solution for her despite the loss I know I will take.

Good luck on your sale. I too think however that 19500 sounds steep but its not my sale so I wish you the best. Why not just trade it in on what you want?

semper fi good buddy. i agreed that everything was straight forward except the statement about saving a couple thousand. whatever the case, i hope you get as much as you can! not everyone is as savy as some of the buyers around here and taking a hit when you get out is NOT fun. :wink:

Thanks for the replies. As I said, I'm happy to listen to reasonable offers. I know that dealer cost ($19600) on my Element was more than I am asking. Sales tax in the purchase state was pretty low as well and no one can miss the tax, even used. Throw in the accessories and I am still out $21k for this vehicle. In light of this, I thought $19500 was a reasonable starting point as it is pushing $2k less than I paid.
Given the vehicle is 2 months old, has 2200 miles and has been garaged (mint), What is it worth????

whatever someone will pay you for it, of course!
put an ad in the local paper/autotrader/whatever.
this is just a tough forum. people here really educate themselves and then bargain away. probably for someone like this, its worth 18-18.5k or so.
but for someone who might otherwise pay MSRP at a local dealer, its a great deal at 19.5k. just be prepared to negotiate.
good luck, and sorry it turned out not to be the car for you!
