I used the recommended tire pressures (32 psi for the front and 34 for the rear). The pressures were measured when the tires were cold. It seems that my tires get worn at the outer edges constantly, which means under inflation.
:?: :?:
1. What was I missing?
2. How much pressure do you pump into your tires?

isn't it that for every 10degree's in the weather change you lose X amount of lb's etc etc or something to that affect
could be that due to your area and the changing climages that your pressure is fluctuating more rapidly?
OR
i could just be eating nacho twisters and have no clue
GOOD LUCK either way 8)

Beware though that the stock tires have broad shoulders with shallow grooves. So the appearance of extra wear on the edges is, in part at least, just appearance. Be sure to check the wear bars in the longitudinal grooves.
Having said that, I try to keep my tires 2 psi harder than recommended (34/36), not that it has made any noticible difference in wear pattern.
Another data point - the RAV4 uses the same size tires, but is lighter. Its recommended pressures are lower - 28 and 26 if I recall correctly.

I got Goodyear too.
I got this truck in July 04, this temperature change in Pittsburgh shouldn't be that much during these months.
I go with plus 4 PSI over the "recommended" front and rear in the Goodyears.

i run 36/38. i've got a bit more than 10k on them, with little evident wear. i'm rotating them with every mobil1 change, every 8k.

We have manual AWD and AFAIK all Elements get the same tires. If the car does not have the same tires, my guess is the dealer replaced them for some reason (custom/different wheels would be my first guess, second guess, they had some kind of tire damage while at the lot and didn't want to fork over the funds for the expensive OEM goodyears).
