I don't do message boards often. My question is, do people who join them always post so many commercial websites? I though I would get to see more personal webs with maybe more Element Owner pictures on them. .....just askin

it usually depends on the focus of the forum... this one here I'd expect to see mostly personal website links... it's not very "business oriented" ~ but it's not intended to be from what I've seen so far.

I'm on some sites that are 99% hobby/personal.. and some others that are focused towards business (so naturally most of the link are to businesses)

My personal icon is just my busines logo ~ it doesn't link to anything (I typically prefer to not cull business from 'net forums ...) .. the link in my profile section just leads to another forum that is strictly dedicated to professionals in my field

Good question. Several owners so far have their own web site and have pictures of their Element on the site. We'll link to those sites to save us some space. But, owners who don't have their own site but have a pic, we'll put the pic up and it won't be a link. Make sense?

We certainly don't mind linking to our member's sites, so long as they're Element-related and tasteful.
