Muggy smell Inside
Hey guys
I've been dealing with a muggy smell inside my E for quite some time. The previous owner had two big dogs in the truck and to this day when I take panels off I will still be pulling dog hair out. The muggy smell comes through the heating and cooling vents. It's more so when the temperature is low/medium. Never when hot (hvac control temps). It's a really muggy stuffy smell that stinks. I've changed my cabin filters and that doesn't solve the issue. What could this be? |

Wonder if the pet hair made its way into the vent system where the seals and flaps are. Over many years of junkyard parts hunting on classic cars ive seen massive amounts of animal hair in those spots. Deep within the system. Its the same with smokers, once the smell is imbedded, its near impossible to get it out.

Crap... What about finding a cabin filter with baking soda to kill the smell? It's obviously not worth it to take the system apart to clean right?

if there is indeed pet hair deep into the system nothing will rid the smell unless its removed. You can temporarily mask the smell, but being its a forced air flow, the mask will wear out quickly.
Try getting a small camera like those that are used to see within walls. Maybe that will work its way into the vent system so you can gauge if this is indeed the issue. Just a suggestion. |
