Cooper Discoverer AT/3 or Yokohama Geolandar ATS?
Need new tires, and was trying to decide between these 2.
I've read reviews for each tire, but want to hear some reviews from people that have had either on their E's. |

Chinese Coopers
I just bought Cooper Discoverer M & S off the net from a dealer in Georgia and had them delivered to NY.
Full of irony but the biggest is they are made in China. I knew by the smell. They are the the softest tire I ever felt. Not on yet, but I only expect them to last 2 winters. Not really complaining just informing others. They will probably be great on the ice. Will start new thread after tested whether good or bad. |

Ive got the AT3
This may be a bit late to be useful, but I have had the Cooper AT3s going on about 7 months now. I got 225/70 R16s. When I bout my element it had cooper Discoverer LSXs on it in the stock 215/70.
The differences I have noticed: The AT3s make a bit more noise, but no more than any other AT tire I have had in years past on other vehicles. They are softer in a corner than the LSXs were. I'm not sure if this is due to softer side walls, or the slightly larger volume of the bigger size. It isn't terrible, but I noticed it. They look appropriately more aggressive. Not over the top, but noticeably more so than the LSX. I think they are a good fit for the elements abilities. Nice for a bad logging road or an iffy soft surface camp site, but not a crawler. This size has my speedometer as much over as it was under with the stock size tire. I agree with the opinions I read here on EOC before I bought the tires, 225/70 R16 is what the element should have had OEM. I have lost about 1 mpg on the highway, but haven't noticed a difference around town. I am very happy with these tires so far, and would buy them again. |

I've got the Geolander ATS's on mine. They're noisy and wear oddly (given they're flexy according to the tire tech I spoke to) but here in Ottawa, Canada I leave them on all year round and they give decent traction even in the snow
