Ahhh, a topic I love and enjoy. I don't think watches are particularly about telling time. They're the biggest piece of jewlery a man can wear and if you know how to pick them, they show a great appreciation for some of the finest design and craftsmanship man has achieved.
![]() I really enjoy my "moon watch", but if money were no object, then you'd see this little baby on my arm when I was dressed to impress.

And I agree completely with cameraman. It isn't about telling time. The craftsmanship in a manual/automatic watch is stunning. Check out this video of a Gyro Tourbillion movement made to counteract the force of gravity as to increase the accuracy of the timepiece. An automatic watch has been called the "Machine with a heartbeat". |

I bought two matching Folexes (read: Fake Rolexes) when I was in Korea for my wife and myself. They lasted about a year and a half. Now, I wear a nice blue faced (with the three dials) Fossil, and my wife has an inexpensive Timex. Still not good to work on the car with, though....

I have these. I bought them from Thinkgeek. They are binary watches made by 01 The One Time Technology.
They have newer versions that are really nice now. But like Irv, jewelry irritates my skin so I don't really wear a watch unless it's to an event or something. I just use my Samsung Blackjack for time telling these days.

Suunto X- lander. I hike and camp. Altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer plus it tells time, too. For show, my great grandfather's 1896 Elgin pocket watch with an oddfellows dial.
Snuffleupagus- there are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Most of my watches are Cassio Baby G Shock. Solar and Atomic. I even have a beautiful Rose Gold Cassio. (I love rose gold. My wedding ring is a band of rose gold with a tambo meteorite inset. I also like meteorites.) I do have a couple Dakota atomic clip on watches, and an antique rose gold with rubies that was my mothers. It is a Crawford brand.
