Considering going to Anza Borrego Desert State Park for some camping between X-Mas and New Year.

I'm real sad I wont be able to join y'all on this trip... I love Death Valley. Even Dino and Dan, my compadres that attended last years trip, are bummed we're not going. I found a good recent article to read about some of DV's sites, especially those that aren't so easy to get to.

Wow that looks awesome and I for sure wanna get to those springs but I know my E is not making that trip or any of those others....way too low for that

Thanks for the article. I have been to all those places w/the exception of the gronding wheel over my last two trips in DV, from the seat of my tw. Elements would be able to access the Saline Warm Springs from North Saline Road. South Saline was still in pretty bad shape when I came down it in early November. Although I did see a CRV manage to scrape it's way down. Of course you could always do that same route and head out of the park via North Saline.

The next time I'm in DV, I'm going to have a lot of wheel time. I HAVE to make it to the warm springs. I also want to go to the Geologists cabin and gaze at the nearby butte. And don't forget the Eureka dunes up north!

There's so much to see and do in DV, but you've got to cover a lot of ground to see it all!

You're so right about covering alot of ground to see it all.

This year we'll take the Jeep and leave Miss Ellie at home.
It means we won't be able to take as much gear but we can go off road.

They have to go in and attach anchors to the bone to keep the labrum sealed to the femur....i know weird doc talk. This is taking place on 15 Jan and recovery time is 4-6 months!! SO unfortunately I can not be the hiking guide or attend the hike to Telescope Peak if the weather is nice. Ive done it before and it is a killer hike with amazing views. I will however not be denied this camping trip. I will be there but i might be a tad bit handicapped. I have to be on crutches for a month so it'll be cutting close but I will be there no doubt.

Sorry to hear about your hip, I was in a similar boat on the last Mt Shasta EOC trip. I had badly sprained my ankle just three weeks before the trip so there was no hiking on that trip for me. The real bummer was that just before the Mt Shasta EOC trip I messed out on hiking around the Lake Tahoe area with a friend of mine.
