I'm in collision repair and I don't like what I see here either. I would definitely go see it for yourself, instead of someone checking it out for you. That way you have nobody to blame but yourself. I will say that the price isn't bad for that mileage, provided that the previous repairs checked out.

GaryS, actually it does. It means "the car might have never been in an accident" while a salvage title means bad history. So while shopping you might still look for a clean title. Obvious but true.

A good friend of mine who has been in the used car business for a long time does not trust "clean titles", Carfax or copious service receipts. He has been buying, selling, trading and working on cars long enough that he judges a cars worth by looking it over thoroughly. In his words:"I'm buying a car not paper."

As I said above, have it checked out by an independent garage. Most that I've found will do a "pre-purchase inspection" for around $50 to $100. It will be money well spent.

I treat a carfax as a pre-selection option. That's it.
Just like with hiring people. You look at their resumes first and you still do the interview.
