What is the rubber tube that drains water onto the ground?

I'm assuming it's some sort of tube to drain away condensate if the air conditioner is on, but we haven't been using the A/C.

I crawled underneath, and saw water dripping from it.

Does the system remove water, even if A/C is not being used?

Doesn't make sense to me.

You have an early model 4wd... so that must mean you have a moon roof. The moon roof has a basic water drain system with a tube that runs through part of the car... I think it's near the rear. Or, you could have the AC on and not know it. The AC will turn on when you set the controls to defrost on the windshield. There is no notification for it, the green light does not turn on for this case UNLESS you set it to manual... let me dig up that tutorial....
