Had the windshield replaced (my first time, but I think it's had 2 prior). It had accumulated a number of chips and was covered with micropits. I've had it 5 years now and it was already pretty pitted when I bought it. I can't believe how much clearer it is - I don't even want to drive it! LOL
Added some bling to the Honda emblem and a funny little sticker of a Honda (toaster) with bread slices coming out the top. Have u seen it? It’s on Etsy, cracked me up. Y’all keep enjoying ur Element. Mine’s a teenager, he’s 15! Been w me that long. Kiss kiss
@Dalum@Vegaschic are you talking about the arms that lift the back door or something else? What did changing them do ? Also where did you buy? Sorry to pester I"m new and need to learn everything from scratch haha.
Really it's 4 clips that you pop out with a flathead screwdriver at the top and bottom of each arm. Do the same thing on the new ones. Remove one side then pop in the other and push the clips in. Repeat for the other side.
Keeping this thread alive....well I got notified of a 2007 that was just put in the local pick-n-pull yard. Well I was a couple days late, but decided to change out my '04 gray thermo controls and radio. I was hoping the bulbs were still in there, but they were already gone. That would have been a score right there😂. Swapped em out and looks pretty good. Now I'll have blue lights on the knobs😁. Although there's a tiny gap now between the radio and the plastic. Oh well, sounds so much more powerful than the 04.
Deal for total of $30 for both imo.
Today, my E got a set of Bosch Iridium plugs. The stubby old Autolites were fried. Finally got the keyless entry unit in the mail too, loved how easy that plug-and-play was.
The orders from Counterproductive Inc. and Element Driven arrived !
Installed their Mid-Window RotopaX mount and both interior Mid-Window Molle Panels. Counter Productive Inc
Excellent and responsive customer service and truly a quality product. Impressive packaging too. Instructions (PDF) were first rate as was video for the RotopaX mount.
Then installed the rear seat latch plate cover from Element Driven. Even got to speak to Jeff about the product last night. Very well made and also truly a quality product, super packaging and excellent customer service.
Cat Security on both of my cars. Fit great, the second install was much faster than the first. The hardest was drilling the 3/16 hole in the frame, and popping the rivets with my cheap riveter. Several reports of stolen cats 3 miles from where I live, then cats with cut pipes appear on eBay, Seattle location, fetching ~$1K.
Currently there are 1723 Used Catalytic Convertors listed on eBay. What does that tell you???!!!
As an eBay seller doing honest business, they rule and regulate me to death! Oh and BTW, they just raised their rates that the sellers pay from 10% to (are you ready for this) 12.35%!
It's about @#$% time they stop aiding and abetting these catalytic convertor thieves!
Replaced the old Hella 500's Black Magic with the New Hella 500 LED Valuefit kit.
Added a dual USB accessory dual dash socket with blue digital volt meter.
Wired the rear USB / 12V DC accessory panel for the back and will install that later in same area where current 12V DC socket is.
* The harness in this image is NOT one that comes in kit. The actual harness has two relays and its all attached and heat shrink wrapped together. Connectors at light ends are of high quality. I squeezed in some dielectric grease into the connector points.
These Hella 500 LED's willburn a retna in broad daylight ! Very impressive construction and easy installation. Kit was in Walmart.com for $145.00, but are all out. However, Jeggs and eBay have them.
They also have a small "bar" of light like a day time running light built in to bottom portion of each light assembly....They call it "accent lighting."
Comes with an excellent harness, a three position switch and pre-attached relay harness. I affixed the relays portion to my existing Power Relay Distribution Panel I built few weeks ago. Fit perfectly on the end of the board.
3 pos Hella switch fit perfectly in this space with access via side panel.
Now have USB on left side of steering wheel....
Ran out of time so will install this later. Had to make my own harness for the back. Will utilize existing 12V DC power in the back for current OEM 12v socket.
When aiming the lights this evening I tried my best to get a shot of the DRL's in the HELLA lights but due to their brightness they only appeared to be a blotch with a camera lens. This photoshop version is as close to it as anything. The upward ends complimment the angular / box design of the Element too. Oh and BTW....I couldnt even look back at the Element with lights on....Have to be the brightest driving light I have ever seen, worse than solar glare.....They make my silvania ZXE high beam bulbs look like whale oil lamps,,,,
Today I got my much anticipated package from Aerogenics! Rear camber kit, 1/4" front lift spacers (measured thread length and just squeaked by 🎉), ditch light mounts (oops broke a bolt 😂) and their great decals. Can't wait to put the control arms in and correct that squatty negative camber.
Used Pilot steering wheels on Ebay looked beat, so for $14 and an hour of stitching this ain't bad. The fake material is fine but a plain one piece would have probably been a better choice.
Wish someone would make a custom cut stitch on leather wrap for this car.

Swapped the hatch struts for a 1998 beetle set, should have done it years ago. 5 minutes and $20 would have prevented many whacks on the head and a lot of ducking/hunching.
One month update--avoid the "microfiber" fake suede steering wrap, it's already feeling pilled on the left side where my hand usually rests. The fake leather is fine.
