I have about 3000 miles on my 2010 4wd EX and have been getting around 20-21 average. Usually its around 20.5 when I do the math at the pump. I did a lot of hwy last week and averaged about 22.8 and just filled up yesterday with 8 gallons and the math said about 19.5. The lowest I have seen was around 14.5 towing a trailer 100 miles with a fridge on the back standing straight up ( a brick towing a brick, plus the trailer was giant for the E ). My trip to work everyday is about 5 miles and I'm still right around the 20 mark. I would say my driving is pretty mixed. I suppose if you never got on the hwy your mpg could be that low...but seems like something is off to me. Unless you are at a super high altitude...that could have an effect. This may sound stupid...but you could also check your e-brake to see if things are not completely released. Feel your wheels after a drive an if they are warm or hot you have a break issue. Also...people with the 2wd versions of your E please specify when you state your mpg...it confuses things when people with 4wd are comparing mpg with 2wd vehicles. I would have to say I was hoping for 1 mpg average better for around town and 2 mpg better on the hwy...but I know if I adjusted my driving habits I could easily be right where I want. Setting the cruise at 75 mph is bad for mileage in any car/truck. My 2008 Chevy pick up got about 14.3 mpg mixed driving and about 18 on long trips. If I pushed the speedo to 75 on the long trips I was seeing about 16.5. In my mind, having driven everything from pick-ups to sport compacts, if I can get 20 or better mpg day to day I'm pretty pleased with that. Coming from a modded Subaru wrx, I was averaging about 21 day to day in that and about 24 on long trips. So my mpg costs have stayed about the same as the pocket rocket...but now I don't have to run 93 and I don't plan on changing the oil until I have around 5000 miles on the E. I was doing full syn every 3000 on the WRX. The combo of extending oil changes and being able to run lower octane makes the E more economical to drive.

In-town Gas Mileage
My '08 TRP-E used to get over 25MPG when I drove mostly on the highway at 60MPH. Now that all of my driving is in town, i'm getting around 16-17MPG-really sucks, but, I also like to listen to the Injen exhaust and CAI, so I'm pretty heavy footed on the gas pedal!
