Front Seat Removal

Hello! I'm looking to change the seat covers on my '05 and need a little help/advice on removing the seats for disassembly. Nothing in the how to section so I'll ask.

I've located the front bolts and they are easily accessible. I don't see the rear bolts and was just wondering if they are under the plastic bezel, where I would assume they would be. Just don't want to pop off any plastic that doesn't need to be removed.

By old back will appreciate any hints and tricks.

Thanks, all.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I decided removal was a no-go for my E, as it is a 2009 with side airbags (I don't want to mess up the sensors).

I did find a video on YouTube that may help your removal, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2jqykHW4QA

Pretty simple. Un hook the battery. Take apart the connectors under the seat. Remove the four bolts on the slides. Two in front and two in rear. Lift out the seats. Do your seat covers and reinstall. Hook the battery up at the end and you will probably have to redo radio code if you have OEM. Pretty easy. DIY! Enjoy.

The cover over the rear bolts is easy to remove.

Do I need a torque wrench for the bolts that secure the seats, or just a regular socket?

Thanks,

Scott

I’ll say yes for anything automotive related and especially when it comes to ensuring your seats stay where they are supposed to be but you would need to find the torque specs.

You can either search the forum or use this below when you search. You can change it to “seat specs” and whatever other variations you would like to only search in the “ “ area
