Replacement Key and Key Fob

I just bought my 03 E and it only came with 1 key.. I NEED another key and would like to add a key fob to it. I noticed on amazon and ebay you can buy these things will they actually work once it gets cut and by a locksmith?>? And the key fob gets programmed?
How much would this cost to get from the dealer?

Hope you are enjoying your E.

The keyless entry is available from one of the site sponsors (H and A) for $113 plus change. Installation and programming is very simple.

I don't recall anything special with the key where you need it cut at the dealer.

It sounds like he already has the keyless entry and just wants an extra key fob - the keyless entry from H&A includes the control module that goes under the dash, as well as two key fobs. I presume just getting a spare key fob for an otherwise working keyless entry system would be cheaper. Programming is simple and instructions are on the H&A website:

Just make sure if you buy them on E-Bay or some other such source that you get truly OEM key fobs and not some aftermarket version.

As for the key - I don't know all the details here but I think you buy the blank keys at the Dealer and get the key cut at a locksmith. Others will hopefully weigh in here on the best route to get replacement keys.
