Does anyone know if the DX front drivers seat has the holes to mount an armrest. The only pics I have seen have been switching the EX armrest for the bigger after market armrest. The arm rest bracket is already in place. I don't want to cut my DX seats if I don't have the screw holes/mounting area for the arm rest/ Thank you in advance

Nat - Here's my take on your situation. It doesn't economical sense for honda to have 2 completely different seat frames (one for DX and one for EX). Reason number 2. The installation instructions for the optional big arm rest show where to find the mounting bracket for E's that didn't have an armrest to begin with (like your DX). Honda likes to keep things simple and having 2 configurations doesn't make sense. In my humble opinion the bracket should be there. But of course it is your car.....

I also have a DX and was wondering the same thing so I asked the parts guy at my honda dealer. He did confirm that there are 2 different part numbers for the seat frames - 1 for the DX and 1 for EX.

He did say though that Honda often will give 2 different part number for the same part so they can distiguish which part goes in which model. What he suggested was to feel around where the arm rest would be mounted to see if the bracket is there.

I did this and it appears to be there (there is a buldge where the mount is supposed to be).

One last thing...
I came accross this website that show installation of the armrest. It has a section of the instructions that shows "If an armrest is not already mounted...". I think this is a good sign that it is the same. The website is -

http://www.cheaphondaparts.com

and for the specific instructions -

http://www.cheaphondaparts.com/shop/...s/AII24275.pdf

I too was in the same boat and want to add one but am concerned about cutting my seat and finding out that I cannot mount one there. I plan on puchasing the armrest within the next month or so and installing becuase of the info that I found on the above website.

Install went well. The link that Dano gave is an excellent resource right out of the honda manual. The DX does have the screw hole/mounting plate on the frame (exactly where manual said it would be). You just have to cut away the foam portion of the seat as indicated in the instructions. A big shout out to Lon and his generosity for the arm rest.
