Has anyone tested the 0 - 60 time for the automatic awd? It appears that
the vehicle is 2 - 3 seconds slower than the standard 2 front wheel drive.

It does not feel slugish, but the stop watch tells the real story.

If I remember correctly, 8.1 for the 5-spd and 9.6 for the automatic in the Motorweek tests. The 5-spd pulls away nicely without even trying from stoplights. I can see a few people a bit astonished to see a "SUV" do a drag-race-style start. :D

I believe the 9.6 was for the 2WD auto. Yes, you could acceleate to terminal velocity from a cliff quite quickly.

My own tests with the automatic awd indicate a 0-60 time of 10.9 to 11.4 without torque loading with the brake. The better time was with premium fuel and cooler temp. The slowest was at 85 degrees on 87 octane fuel.

This sounds slow, but is still better than my Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.3 liter engine.

Perhaps Honda should consider providing a little more H.P. for this vehicle.

The 5 speed does give better performance, but I do prefer the automatic in the local stop and go traffic.

MatT3T4 said that Revhard is making a turbo kit for the Element or a kit that will fit the element, I mean we all know that the K24 is being used readily by honda being in the engine bays of the accord and the crv....... But yeah Turbo is the way to go........

...sounds like the 2007 element is for you....they are boosting the HP +10 and a 5-speed automatic will be available....

0-60 isnt bad for what it is

I have an AWD automatic element with a K&N Typhoon air intake

The 0-60 im guessing is 8-9 secs

the high rpm is great it sounds like a beast lol

with a jet ECU upgrade and a better exhaust this thing would have a pair

and one of my friends that races his 500+ Hp MR said that he saw an engine head for this car but i havent found it yet he will have to show me where he saw it. but he said with an ECU upgrade and an engine head would add like 150-170 hp :-D

but earlier this week i raced a honda civic with a full after market exhaust and a cold air intake and entirely murdered the civic by about 5-6 car lengths (its not saying a lot but i bet it is bad getting beat by an element!!!!) so with just a cold air intake i noticed a lot of difference it is def worth the 200 dollars:cool:
