Sounds like torque converter shudder. Have you ever changed your transmission fluid? If not just remember to use genuine honda ATF only and avoid, at all cost, any shop that pushes you for a transmission flush. Tranny flushes are an easy way to kill a honda transmission.
Agreed ! I thought that was only prevalent in the Acura.

It does sound like the torque converter shudder that has been reported in the Acura line.

More on this Here.

How about a unbalenced tire or 2 or 4 . Ice , snow , mud , or a lost weel weight can cause vibrations. Im not dismising the torque converter deal but IMO keep it simple at first. Best of luck to ya..

I thought about that also. But he may live in Arizona. We just don't know.

The fact that he is reporting that it's in the shop, and they can't find it, might rule that out though.

You are probly right Dom, I was just puting it out thair;-)
element shudder.....

thanks guys for all the replies, all the tests run in the shop came out good,
my mechanic who is awesome by the way.......felt it was the tranny fluid that needed to be changed, so they did that, twice, he said once was not enough because you can't get all the old fluid out, no error code in the computer, so the sensors seemed all good....
seems to be ok, no more shudder so far, so I think they got it.....

tire guys, the tires are new, bearclaw for Ice and snow and they are great, tracks and goes thru snow and ice almost as good as my 4 wheel drive tahoe......by the way I live in wisconsin, love the element, for short trips and hauling, long trips it's the tahoe......

really appreciate this site, and all the help from everyone......
thanks again !!!!

I have the same problem and I have done everything.Flushed tranny twice through the oil quick service also??.I am going to do it my self with the honda trans fluid. I will report back.
Had the same issue and my mechanic found a brake caliper hanging up would cause this type of front end shudder! I had previously done my alignment, rotation and tranny change.
