My daughters Element had the check engine light come when she started it after a short stop. It is jerking badly in first and second gear and has no throttle resonse in third gear. Any ideas?

On it's way to the dealer

It is completely undrivable and is headed to the dealer on the back of a tow truck. I'll post when I know something. 99,000 miles, how lucky am I.

Welcome and its hard to tell you what is causing the light without the code. Everything would just be a best guess.

Found the problem

It's the VTEC valve. Dealer says it's not covered by the warranty, gotta check on that.
