Disengage overdrive and see if the noise goes away (be sure to shift into overdrive at 50mph).

I had a similar noise with my 03. I took it in and they flushed the transmission, filled it up, with pretty new fluid and viola! No more noise, no shudder.

I will give that a try thanks, is a trans flush different than a drain and refill, is a flush ok to do after 60000 miles?

Just got back from the dealer......they said the torque converter under slight to moderate acceleration is the usual culprit with the rumble strip sound..........they changed out the trans fluid to fix the problem.......................

If the problem persist consider adding a 2-3 ounce of an HFM additive to your torque converter. This will typically take care of any torque shudder sounds.
