The Owners Manual was wrong on the list of fuses under the hood. Several answers I found on the web said "small light" fuse #2 was the culprit - checked the top row middle fuse as labeled in the owners manual - not blown - replaced it anyway - still the tail lights & dash lights were out!

Then I found this website :

which showed the fuses listed in a completely opposite order - bottoms row showed fuses 1 - 2 - 3 vs the owners manual showing the Top row as 1 - 2 - 3 - so. Went back out to my car for the 5th time - pulled the bottom row middle fuse NOW listed as fuse #2 - it was blown - replaced it - and - Voalla! - instrument panel lights were back on - Tail lights were working!

I've been using a trailer quite a bit lately & I suspect that hooking up the trailer lights at some point was the culprit in the first place.

The guys at Pep Boys couldn't figure it out ether & I've searched google for 3 days looking for the answer! I hope this thread helps others in need!
