Come one, Come all!!!

I would like to invite everyone to the 2010 East Coast National Meet to be held from Thursday, July 29, 2010 to Monday, August 2, 2010.

Where might you ask is this shin-dig going to be held??? Well I'm glad you asked... My family owns approx 300 acres of land outside my hometown of Jamestown, NY near the village of Frewsburg, NY. Please PM me for the specific address as I do not want to post it for the WORLD to see. Directions can be mapquested/googled/GPSed, just choose your weapon.

Why might you ask is the NE Region National Meet so far west this year??? Well I dunno, but I'm sure happy it is. Our hope is that folks from other regions (ie: Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Canada, etc...) can join us for a rockin' good time.

Now for the details (PLEASE READ)...

The area that I have offered is my family's personal camp/cabin therefore it is not set up as a traditional campground (but hey, that means no fees either). With that being said, we do offer indoor plumbing (toilet/shower/sink), and electricity, however, since this is private property, the well and electric service are not set up for MASSIVE use. To accommodate the amount of people that I would like to see at this event, I will take care of ordering porta-potties to alleviate the well usage once I know how many folks are attending. It has been suggested that attendees bring a good amount of their own water for drinking and if you have an A/C unit in a camper that you bring a small generator as I can't accommodate mult A/C's running at once. Heck if you have a generator bring it, who knows what we'll find to plug in  !

Dogs and of course, children are allowed (just make sure landmines are picked up from both ;-) )

There is a small pond on the premise for dogs to swim in, fishing (there are small fish in there), and newt/frog catching. If you do have small children, please be aware that the pond is easily accessible and NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY.

As for any other rules, all I ask is that the land/area is left in the same condition that it was found after all is said and done...

One last thing! Although I have no intention of charging for the use of the property, donations are welcome and encouraged to help with the costs of the porta-potties, utilities, and things that I'm sure I haven't even thought of yet.

Other Useful Info:

Hotels are available for those less camping inclined in Jamestown, NY (approx 10 miles from the camp). There is a Best Western, Clarion, Hampton Inn, and Comfort Inn, as well as, a few, privately owned establishments.

There is plenty to do around the area during the summer as that is the biggest tourist season. There is always the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail, Chautauqua Lake is always beautiful with many tourist attractions including Chautauqua Institution (not a mental institute! check it out at CIWEB.ORG). The institution has a number of education lectures and programs as well as nightly concerts with bigger, more well known acts on Friday nights (the 2010 schedule is not out yet). Smaller, but very nice restaurants and a floating stage are located in Bemus Point, NY which is also on the lake. A day trip to Niagara Falls (approx 2 hrs north) is also highly recommended for those out of the area.

As a group, I'm sure that we will come up with an agenda of a few scheduled events once we have a better idea of numbers.

PLEASE RSVP WITH THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING ON THE NORTHEAST REGION THREAD

Any other questions, please feel free to ask...
