2010 Overhead Console in 03-08?

Hello! I have searched for this but cannot seem to find anything in the other threads that addresses this. I have a 2004 EX and really like the longer overhead console that is in the 2010 EX models. Does anyone out there know if the 2010 overhead console can be installed in an older E? I know it is likely that the roof liner will need to be replaced, and in my case, a hole would need to be added to the new liner for the skylight.

I would say no, because there is more curve on the rooh of the pre "09" E's

I am looking to add this to my "11" LX, anyone done this?
Looking on info for the same. I hope this bumps this thread up top again.
If the curvature of the roof is the "only" problem you could shave the radius down easily...if you have enough skill and a good hand-held planer or router.
2009-2011 EX overhead storage is significantly longer than pre-2009 overhead storage, if you don't replace whole roof lining to 2009-2011 EX, where are you going to mount the rear of storage to, hopefully not through the roof.
The shape of the roof has not changed since 2003.

The only physical changes to ther roof panel were the revised mounting brackets for the 2009+ roof console.

Lizzurd,

Looking at 2006 & 2011 roof lining pic below, size of mounting holes, size of bracket, qty of screw for storage, has increased significantly form pre-2009 to 2009+.
Mounting a larger bracket/storage which required more screw holes, to a smaller hole which has less screw holes is going to be interesting.

My reply was directed to the comment that the curve of the roof had changed. At first reading i missed that NV_05_AWD was talking about the head liner not the actual roof panel.

This thread gives a better indication of the differences in the roof lining and why the new style console will not fit in older models.

Using a 2009 overhead compartment for a 2008?

Does anyone know if the overhead compartment on a 2009 can be placed on a 2007? If so, what parts do you have to buy to install it?

Moved your thread into here. Short answer is it will NOT work.

Hello,
Has anyone tried to install an overhead console (#32 in picture) from a 2009 EX into a 2008 LX?
Suggestions?
Thanks!

2011 full length overhead console in '08 LX

I'm in the process if negotiating a price for a overhead console from a 2011 E for my '08 LX.

This is the longer unit with lights at both ends and a couple of storage bins in the middle. Reminds me of the overhead storage in the 2010 CR-V I used to own before I traded it for the '08 E.

My question, before I buy this thing and hack up my headliner, is will it fit?

Since my headliner has that big bulge about where this would presumably fit, I'm assuming it will, but would like to make sure.

Please anyone with experience with these items let me know. Also any comments on potential problems would be greatly appreciated.

I am on a bit of a time crunch on this, so would really appreciate the comments sooner rather than later.

Thanks,

Curtis

Thanks dude. You just convinced me to jump on that one on eBay I found for 60 shipped.
There is a thread in here about installing the roof console your asking about and the conclusion was it will not fit.The headliner is a different shape between the older E's and newer.
I have wanted to do this mod but was not brave enough to take a chance ruining my headliner

Well, looks like that'll save me some money and a LOT of headaches. Not to mention a hacked up headliner!

Thanks for the timely responses.
