Hey all..new to the forum. My fiancee has an 08 sc and shes wanting to put some bigger rims on it, ive been reading about putting 22s on it, but I was wondering if 24s would work? Has anyone here attempted it? Everyones help would be much appreciated

I think 22s are about as big as you can go on the E. Anything bigger and it will cause some big headache issues.

Put some nice 22s on it and she should be happy.

hopefully where you live, the roads are smooth. Probably would need a 20 series tire.

I'm nervous about upgrading to 20s. Already had to replace one of the factory 18s.

Yeah I think so too, she found them for cheap and wanted to get them but I was thinking it would probably have a turning issue and after reading the sticky thread on bigger wheels it would do some wear and tear thats not worth dealing with
You would need something like a 24x7 and a 25 series tire. Would look funny from behind with the wheel being tall and narrow. I would shoot for 2s and call it a day. Im contemplating putting 22's on my gal's E but I know how she drives so 20's with some meat on them would be more logical.
Say goodbye to gas mileage, the ability to go up hills and make u-turns.
I don't understand the whole "insanely oversized rim" thing.
22's will work.....u turns not a problem....and I highly doubt he'll be using these 22's for anything but the streets.

You just need to do your homework on fitment. Pick a wheel that's not too heavy, the right offset & width and you should be just fine....especially if you're not going to lower the SC any further.

Ditto.

Form follows function.
Thats a larger diameter rim then on my Fire Truck! Positives. Handles corners good. Negitives. Very rough ride and can blow out easily if you hit a decent size pothole and very expensive.
It's not about the ride, it's about the look.....different strokes for different folks ;-)

Cause it looks good.

Very nice SS!!

The bad part about the Element is that you couldn't easily make the wheels tuck under like your Impala. It would require some major modification to make the wheels tuck in like that....I would look great, but a lot of work.

Technically you could get 23's to fit if you could find a 23x8.5 or 9 with a high offset and 25 series tires....

That's also a matter of opinion.....you couldn't give me that car

I will say that your wheel choice is much nicer than that of the one in the background though

That would look ok if you like all rim and no tire. At least that Impala is tucked over the tires. I saw one a couple years ago in Va Beach when we were back there with our Dc3 and it was not tucked over the tires and the damn car looked like a 4X4 with little bitty brakes.
I love Impy ss', but a set of nice 18's would make it a hell of a lot nicer imo, could save enough on rims and tires to put a turbo on it. The impy has the nice 8.5" rear, unlike the camaro's 7.625" rear, imps can be modded and not have to worry about the rear blowing out ever year, I went through 4 stock rears in 3 years. Nice car anyways, you can give it to me, I love LT1 cars, most mechanics hate them because of the opti, but we have options now that deletes it, we have reverse cooling, and a lot cheaper to build than lsx's.

Never said it wasnt a matter of opinion. But I will say that I get more of the it looks good opinions than I do of the no it doesnt opinions.

DAAAM!!! so i guest my dreams of slammin my E and throwing on some big 26ers just got shot down hard [:-( :-(]...And dont hate on the guy with the impala u might not like it as a pic BUT in person if u step back and take a good look its a very HOT look to the point were anything less then 24s makes it look funny i mean it looks like a foose diecast car the only thing i hate about it is i cant do the same:D
God !! I wish I saved the picture before the phone got destroyed!!:-x Yes they fit in the back im not completely sure in the front. I bolted a three piece Moz 24x9 with a 255/30 nitto invo on it to my E a few months ago at work. The offset was to low so it skated a lil bit but it fit!! just thought i would let you know..
WHY NOT TAKE IT ALL THE WAY?

You need spinners. Not just 24s but spinning 24s,
some curb feelers,
Hydraulics,
Pink Neon,
limo tint,
trunk lock delete,
make the trunk one giant sub,
Leather seats with your name on one and your girls name on the other,
fuzzy dice,
glass packs.

Did I miss anything?
