Hi Guys,

New here, and joined because a long lost bug to buy an element (lost when I moved to the UK but back in US now) has bit me hard again and I went ahead and put in a price request. Looking for a AWD EX with Navi and the price is without Navi but will need to negotiate.

Seems there is High availability in my neck of the woods, which seems to explain the price drop a bit, but wanted to know how close that may be to invoice.

Hoping to join you guys soon as a proud owner of an Element!

Please don't buy an Element, for your own sake.
Bengoshi-San,

I am very confused here. :?

In this post you just posted today, you mention you possibly will start modify your E as soon as you paid off your E, which probably mean more money & more time you will spend with your E, then you are telling people don't buy E?

Could you help us understand problem with your E, so we could start helping you. At the same time, help other potential E buyer understand problem with your E, & maybe help them understand how everyone in this forum are welling to help each other, if ask.

Peace & good luck with your E.

If you don't mind working on excel sheet a little, here is link to a very useful excel sheet I used when I bought my 09.

I also used edmund.com to find invoice price of specific model I purchased. Here is for 2010 Element EX AWD with Navi.

Remember there is "Factory Holdback" & potential "Factory to Dealer Incentives". Also depend on how long the car is on the dealer's lot which influent how urgent dealer want to sell the car. So yes, it is possible to get a new car lower than invoice before tax & license. When I purchased my E, I found out dealer was getting $1000 "Factory to Dealer Incentives", which customer normally does not see.

Good luck on your new E shopping.

I got my 2010 about 3 weeks ago. EX, 4wd, Auto, Nav, Splash Guards and Spoiler. Negotiated down to an even 25k and they had to order it. Not sure how that compares to MSRP, but I was happy.

Spoonkiller,
thats about the price that they have set forth on the quote I was provided. The only thing now is to see if they can find one with Navi and if I will be buying. I am also looking at buying an apartment and the key difference will be if I can negotiate down the apartment I am looking at.

Will probably set up a test drive for this weekend so I can at least get a feel for it. Will let you all know.

I will probably just use USAA's buying service to get mine. Horrible at negotiating a price down myself. I did see that USAA price search stays relatively close to the zip code you use and just using a zip code for a city slightly farther away would effect what price they came back with. I found a zip code that gave back a "5 lowest in USA" result that I'd have no problem getting to with 20 extra minutes of driving and I assume means its the 5th lowest price USAA can get in all of the USA. It was about $500 less then the one I will link here...because I forgot which zip I used. This one is only "22 lowest in California"

$23,968 member price. $2327 below MSRP for an EX AWD with nav. and price is based on only what dealers have in their inventory. I am not sure how it goes after that, but suposedly it's a done deal.

wow, $2500 below sticker....i wish! picking our 2010 EX 4WD with navi tomorrow.

best I could do was $1000 below sticker which is $500 above invoice.

A seven state search turned up one, yep, one EX 4WD with navi...fortunately, it was in the color we wanted....there was no way the dealers(I had two of them working to get this one from out of state) were going to let this go at invoice...

navi is unbelievably hard to find!

It's certainly not like the days when Honda could charge $500 or $1000 ABOVE sticker due to "limited availability", but it seems Honda created a limited availability situation, putting navi on 1 in every 100 elements..

Beyond the Navi, couldn't you spend the $$$ to buy one...? Or do you like the builit-in nature of it...? Just wondering what your take is on that particular reason... They're 4WD now not AWD... FYI... :-D

Oh, and when you DO get your E don't forget to post d'em pics...! Hopefully you'll be getting the Polished Metal Metallic (PMM) since it's the BESTEST color in the world...!!! LMELBO...!!!
