Hey we have had our Element since 2-03 and had to trade out the baby seat for a Booster. The previous seat actually fit really tight with a device called a Mighty tite which is on the same idea of a winch or come along. It cant be used with the booster. I have it attached at the top with the Latch tether but since the side belt slides through a plastic guide loop across the toddlers chest to his hip and thru another plastic loop guide and into the seat belt lock, the seat still moves alot and makes me really nervous about the safety of it. Anyone have any ideas? Also the interior plastic scratches so easy, what can you do to camoflouge those?

I loved the mighty tite when I first used it, but my health department car seat inspector said it hasn't been properly crash tested and suggested we not use it. It has been tested but only at low-speed crashes.

I would take the seat to an inspector and see what they can recommend. Seeing it done properly really sheds insight on the process.

good luck

You do not need to install a belt positioning booster. It just sits on the seat and the lap/shoulder belt is used to secure the child. It only needs to be installed if you are using an integrated harness (for children under 40 pounds). I am not sure I got all the info on your problem correctly, but feel free to email me and I will see if I can help.
