5 TH GEAR POPS OUT UPON ACCELERATION???? ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM...

I have driven about 500 miles on it so far and it has popped out of gear 3 times, and I know its not me. Has anyone had this problem at all?

Nope, never had that experience. I would head to the dealership!

Mine has never popped out. But there were several times where it felt like the 5th gear was not engaged all the way. All I had to do was touch it lightly and it would go back to neutral. But most of the time no problems.

No problem with mine after 2300 miles. You should take yours in.

I have 5800 miles on my 5spd and never had this problem. This sounds like a saftey concern I would get it looked at ASAP. Good luck!

Car is going in to gte fixed.

Although i am pissed about this, It does not change my feelings towards this AWESOME honda!

Are you sure that you "fully" engaged the 5th gear? I know I have shifted to reverse in other cars thinking it was fully in but it wasn't and popped out.

this DEFECT was found in some other Elements...Replaced the 5th gear. It was a DEFECT.

Definitely head back to the dealer. I had a Mitsubishi Montero that did the same thing, was a defect in one of the shift forks.

I have 4800 miles on my Element, 5spd. still shifting smoothly.
