okay, I get it. So its strictly a math statement, not a statement of usability. I can imagine there are some configurations in the 64 that just wouldn't be of any real use, like the front seats flat with the back seats removed (then again, it could still be a bed for short people :D ) Thanks Keymonkey

This is the basic formula from college math. The calculations are based on permutations and combinations.

There are 4 seats. Each front seat has two variations - up or reclined. Each of the back seats has 4 poccible positions - normal, reclined, folded up, or removed. So the permutations for the four seats is calculated as 4 X 4 X 2 X 2 = 64

[quote:89bc0c3b37="ianmcc"]I wonder how many of us can claim using other "positions" in their E?... the back certain provides plenty of room to discover the entire Kama Sutra :p[/quote:89bc0c3b37]

amen to that!!!!!

Went and test drove an EX 4WD SOP today...been a member here for three months, dont know why it took me so long! LOVE this car, but I am short about 10K (anyone want to loan a hardworking 24 yr old some $$? :D ) I thought I had played around with it until there was nothing left to do. Can anyone tell me if you can make the rear seats face backwards? I figure since it mounts on those two rails it is possible. I want to put on my biking shoes while sitting in the back, so it would be real convenient that way.

I also heard them saying there were over 30 seating configurations...to me I can only see seats folded up, seats all down, one up one down, both taken out, all four seats laid flat into bed. Am I missing something?

Nope, but if you do the different combinations of each, it adds up.

Front seat up, passenger seat up, rear driver up, rear passenger down.
Front seat up, passenger seat up, rear driver down, rear passenger up.
Front seat up, passenger seat up, both rear seats down.
Front seat up, passenger seat down, rear driver up, rear passenger down.
Front seat up, passenger seat down, rear driver down, rear passenger up.
Front seat up, passenger seat down, both rear seats down.
Keep on going. :)

According to the owner's manual the passenger seat can be turned around to face backwards. I seem to remember that one of the pictures in the brochure shows this. It involves removing the headrest I do remember, but I've forgotten the rest. It did sound slightly complicated and as I couldn't think of a reason for me to do so, I didn't try it.

I have not seen that in the manual, could you let us know what page it is on?

I seem to remember that this was a feature in the concept car that never made it to production.

firetruck41, you're right. I could have sworn I'd read it in the manual. I distinctly remember reading instructions on how to reverse the seats somewhere though. Wierd?

I didn't think I had seen anything about it in the manual, but I was hoping, as it would be cool!

Has anyone notice when you type in the honda.com web site you can see the 2 back seats with bungee cords in them??? I thought we only get 1 in the front and one in the back?

Just click on "fun" and then click on "64 seat configuration"
