I have a 2004 Honda element with 39000 miles on it. When I turn my air conditioner on, it will work for 10 minutes or so and then it makes a few strange noises and then the air blows warm. Every three seconds, after that it makes the same strange noise as before but over and over every three to five seconds.

The noise sounds like something is try to engage but is slipping - then it makes a popping noise (like if someone were pushing the metal pop top of an opened glass jar) That is the best way I can describe the noise.

I have had the vehicle looked at three times and noone can tell me what is wrong. Help me out.

Are the noises outside in the engine compartment? Could be a stator, clutch or compressor problem. If it is inside i'm not sure. As in my case, it pays in time and frustration to simply have it checked out by a reputable a/c shop. Even the honda dealer will work. Then call around and get estimates for the work. As I have learned from the people on this forum in my previous thread, no one will be able to tell you exactly what it is without looking at it, but they will definitley help in giving you piece of mind that you are making an informed decision.

Maybe we can help a bit with a little more info. Who looked at it for you? Can you put a video of it on youtube so we can hear/see it?
