I did search...maybe I'm not so good at it.
I know this is a stupidly expensive way to go compared to other options
I like OEM gear, esp raiding the parts bin from other models
I love the look of my LX hubcaps...I just don't like hubcaps

so my summer wheel solution:

TL Type S 17" have a look I like, so I'm willing to save up and spend a bit too much, simply because I like the way they look. Enough rambling, on the the point of this post, my questions.

Has anyone done this mod?
Any pics?
Fitment issues?
Other than getting lucky finding some on an Acura forum/Ebay/craigslist...where should I be looking to get the best deal?
Does the manufacturer of this wheel offer a "generic" alternative?

Thanks for any help.

I love the look of the S-type wheels and decided to photochop them on a new SC. Though I'm not sure they will fit...

Those wheels look awsome on the E. And they will fit. Others have put on OEM TL rims before.

mmmmmm...hot
they should fit. I had 17" TSX wheels on my E during the summer. just make sure you get the right size tires, or your gas mileage will get messed up.
Found these on Ebay.

Looks like a good deal. The seller offers powdercoating, so I'm thinking about color matching the panels or maybe going Atomic Blue.
Wow! Only $860.04 for a set. Sounds like a bargain.
I have base TL wheels and I had to use a small wheel spacer in the rear to clear the rear trailing arm. I also had to install front lug nut studs on the rear to compensate for the spacer so you might have a problem getting those to fit properly.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
I have '05 17" MDX rims on my LX. Love the look but the tires came with them and a slightly too big (235 56R 17). Next set I'll get 60's and it should be fine.
AcuraZine.com is first to come to mind
forums will be your best bet, i would imagine.
good luck. it looks great...
I just installed regular TL wheels and I love how they look. Anyone have picture of type s rims not photoshopped?
