One dealer told me they will not retrofit the EX'S because it will be too expensive. You would have to order two new front seats, get the wiring, purchase the air bags and tap into the CPU to make it all work. He said it might be 1 to 2 thousand dollars?

Why? We paid the same price that someone new will pay with airbags.

Correct me if I am wrong but are side airbags not an option on most cars. ONce they are on the element they will most likely be an option.

If side airbags are an option and not standard, then that makes a big difference. With all the safety stuff these days, its hard to think of airbags as optional, but the side one you are probably right about. I guess we will have to wait and see if they are.

It will interesting to see how Honda handles pricing with 2003 and a half and 2004 E's, given their newfound demographic data. I think it was priced so aggressively because they were thinking Gen Y/first car. Now that it's primarily boomers, they may significantly change optioning and price points.

Even if the new ones are arguably better, I don't and won't regret getting Mist-E, I appreciate this beast more every day I have it.

Peace,
