alarm install question : loose a key ?

hi...i went to bestbuy last night to get an alarm...it is $220 install included...the installer told me that it is around $100 in parts...PLUS : (here is the weird part), I would loose a key...he needed one of my keys to by-pass the honda kill system...they key would be mounted under stearing wheel .... sounds really really weird ... maybe emass can explain...take care...robert

You do not need to loose one of your keys.

You can buy a $30 Key transponder bypass for the honda. This will learn the code for your key and will send the signal to the Ignition/ECU to allow the remote start.

If that doesn't work, go to your dealer and buy a key. Do not get it re-keyed. U will need this key for your remote start. But first, you will need to re program it and learn the codes of your element.

You will also need a universal key transponder bypass module. Your new key will be inside this module, tucked and hidden under the dash somewhere.

The reason I said to not get your new key re-keyed is just in-case someone finds it, they cannot use it to start your vehicle.
