I know a lot of you don't like remote starts on manuals, I dont' either but when you live in Mid West with 6 months of snow, it's almost a necessity. I've searched far and wide and finally found a fool proof method for manuals.

Subaru's come stock with neutral safety wire, but Honda's don't. So follow this link for instructions on making your own neutral safety switch. It's very simple, I made it for my S2k, and it's cheap.. under 5 bucks.

Please give credit to Modifry from S2k forums. I just like to pass around safe practices.

most remote starters have input for neutral switch or hood pin, or parking brake.

I basically connected this to (-) parking brake wire and then to neutral safety input. So my s2k has to be in neutral AND parking brake must be on for remote start to work.

I got the reed switch from here

and magnets from here

and small circuit board from here

wow.. didn't see replies on this subject so i thought no one cared....

any circuit board will do. one i got at the store looks like this

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3173937

but square. You will need to cut them afte you mount the reed switch

Here is the magnet I used, needs to be pretty close to the reed switch, within 3/8" to get the magnetic field to activate the switch.

My order line from my invoice
1 x NdFeB Disc, 3/16 in. x 1/16 in. (0007) = $0.15
