Saw this basket on Discount Ramps, looks pretty low profile, I was wondering if anyone has used it and/or has pics of it installed? Pretty inexpensive also

It appears that the side rails are stamped steel, suggesting that it is pretty cheaply made. Though that might be better than one that is cheaply welded from thin tubing.

There have been threads about mounting inexpensive baskets on the Element cross bars, especially the aerodynamic Honda ones. The mounting saddles will not lineup exactly with the fixed cross bars. I'm sure you could figure out a way to mount it, but it would take some ingenuity.

I would like a pic with the basket loaded. Does the front of the rack bend down at all? I usually have to stick the detritus from my job inside the E (hitman) and this would work well for me. Bought the E cuz I thought I could wash it out, but after a few times it it started to smell and my airbag light went on.

Elemental Roof Rack......

Dude.....I made this from ( Quick-Clamp ) fittings from Growers Supply ...
www.GrowersSupply.com and 1 1/4 galvanized fence tubing...the front and rear curved peices are electrical conduit...the front extention is a light bar...I only have one light mounted so far...got two others still ta put on....I bought a Thule roof rack system which I mounted the rack to so I can just pop it off any time I need to...lol...with help...this thing weighs about 75 lbs...notta one man job ta put on or take off....I had a local shop weld all of the joints to make it more sturdy and I painter it with truck bed liner...if ya look in the back..I added two supports just ta make it more secure in the back...I'm in the process of ordering a fold out tent to mount on the back half of it..which will give me plenty of space of all of my gear....I know it's big...maybe I'm just compensating....

I got a BVG basket and the mounting brackets look the same... check out this thread. They're really hard on the fingers - you might consider just using bolts and a socket wrench.

Also, if you leave them on for a while as I did, you may encounter rust making them quite difficult to remove. Keep an eye on 'em.
