Hi, I'm rebuilding a 07 Element SC and I'm looking for the right side curtain airbag, the one that is in the roof above the door. Are undeployed airbag modules from a wrecked vehicle safe? Where do you think is the best place to buy used? new? airbags?

They should be safe as long as the sensor module is not tripped.

Personally i would not want or trust a used airbag component in my own vehicle.....You can buy new for $420.00.

any problem with buying an SRS from a salvaged Element?

Yes, I can think of a couple:

- If the Element was damaged enough to total it I would doubt that it would have any airbags left.

- If it does have undeployed airbags they would be the first thing the salvage yard would pull off and sell.

(I have a son who works for a large salvage yard conglomerate.)
