Anyone know the wiring layout of the 6 wire jack (Green plug) on the back of the stock head unit. This goes to the AUX jack.

Looking to ditch the FM modulator for my sirius and tie into the AUX on the back side head near the radio. Sound without the modulator is vastly better.

Thanks

Got part of this on another board.

According to the service manual, the green one is refered to as connector 202-D. Six pins, starting fron the left with the key on top:

1= yellow, (AUX-DET)
2= blue, (AUX-GND)
3= brown, (AUX-Audio Right Channel)
4= green, (AUX-Audio common ground)
5= white, (AUX-Audio Left Channel)
6= lt green/red, (AUX SH GND)

You need to short wires 1 and 2 to activate the AUX port on the stock radio.

Unsure what wire 6 would do.

Now switching over to the Sirius I just press the AUX button. The radio appears to have a memory for the power down state. If you are on AUX it powers up on AUX, same for DISC and broadcast.

Bottom line, if anyone has the Audiovox Sirius unit, ditch the FM modulator and tap directly into the AUX cable. Give you near CD quality v/s a poor MPS with high compression. I would guess other makes for Sirius and XM use the same Mister Microphone FM modulator that get picked up for ten on the dollar (yen)
