I'm thinking of putting a bed liner on the upper part of the doors and roof so that it has a look like the plastic trim. I thinh that the upper part of the doors would blend in well with the rest of the upper part of the E. any ideas or coments??

I am assuming you are talking about the spray in bedliner stuff and it would look good on the upper part of the doors but don't know about the roof. Iwould think it would heat up the car on the summer months. I have heard of some putting the spray bedliner on the composit panels with success.

If the coating were to extend all the way up, I think it would look like a taxi or old style police car.

If I were to coat the door panels, I'd stop at the height of the fender composite panels, and put a thin black molding across the top running into the door handles.

I considered using Rustoleum Anodized Bronze paint this way, to camouflage the parking lot dings. It's a very close match to the 2004 metallic color composite cladding.
