Okay, but I'll lead this off with a disclaimer. The winner will receive the EOC "Hawaii Chapter" sticker, not the homegrown HEOC sticker...
Here's the new quiz. If you all have been reading through my photo journal in this thread, you can probably guess that despite it's outward appearance, Ka`ena Point is rich in history. In ancient Hawaiian mythology and folklore, the land of Ka`ena (literally translated as "the heat") has always been described as a wild and desolate place.
This limestone formation (shown below) is situated out near the tip of the point. Despite the rail line laid near it's location in the 1890's and the subsequent ravages the land has experienced after decades of abuse, this formation has remained undisturbed.
The first person that can identify this formation by it's
Hawaiian name, and
can explain it's signifcance, will win the sticker (again, local EOC members only, please).
