Is having a presidential dog like wealthy people having kids?

Are they walked by the staff, cleaned by the staff, fed by the staff, trained by the staff, and only around the owners when they are in mood for "doggie time". I think it would be a little hard to teach kids pet responsibility that way.

Wow all this talking about dogs makes me want to pet my dogs, I need to go order the staff to bring in my dogs, and remind me what their names are;-)
